Viking Topic Work
Primary 5 and Primary 6 have been very busy with their Viking topic work.
We created Viking stones out of clay and printed our names in runes.
We also learnt about Viking brooches and jewellery. We cut out cardboard in the shape of a circle and then drew with a pencil a design. We then took a piece of string over the top of the pencil markings and glued the string onto the cardboard. After we covered the brooch pendant with tinfoil - we discovered we had to make sure the foil was tight to the cardboard and then press down so that the pattern came through the foil. Next we punched a hole through the cardboard and threaded a piece of string through. To finish we threaded pasta shapes onto the necklace string and sprayed it with gold or silver paint. We love our new pieces of jewellery.
Vicious Viking cardboard faces - we created these through cutting out a square of cardboard. We then punched holes and learnt how to tie piece of thread in a knot to create a beard. We then then drew a Viking face with helmet and then painted. Did you know that Vikings actually didn’t have horns on their helmets contrary to what everyone believes!
What super work from everyone🤩
