The Gruffalo

Over the past two weeks we have been focusing on the story of ‘The Gruffalo’. We have been very busy painting the Gruffalo and describing what he looks like. We have also made Gruffalo crumble using porridge oats and raisins as well as scrambled snakes using spaghetti and food colouring. P1 also had lots of fun retelling the story in our own words through role play activities. We added conkers, pine cones and yellow food colouring to the water tray and made the Gruffalo using modelling clay, materials and play dough. We also used our fine motor skills to attach pegs onto the Gruffalo’s back to represent his purple prickles. Have a look at the video to see all our great play experiences.
