Primary 1 also had a visit from the local fire service as part of their “People Who Help Us” topic. We looked around the big fire engine and even got to squirt water with the hose, pretending to put a fire out! The firemen showed us lots of special equipment that they use to help keep them safe when fighting fires. In P.D.M.U. we have been learning all about fire safety at home. We practised the ‘Stop, Drop and Roll’ rule. We created fire paintings using different mediums exploring colour and shape. We developed our fine motor skills completing jigsaws and cutting and sticking activities about firefighters. We built a large fire station with large jigsaw bricks working together as a team!
